Cost & Savings

 

The price of each window or door system depends on several factors: whether it is openable or sliding, its dimensions, the material (PVC or aluminum), the type of glazing (double, triple, energy-efficient), the color options, the hardware, and whether shutters or insect screens are included.

In general, sliding systems are more expensive, while special constructions (such as lift & slide or recessed systems) further increase the overall cost.

For an accurate quotation, an on-site measurement by a technician is required. Alternatively, you may complete our online form with indicative dimensions and a brief description to receive an initial cost estimate promptly.

 

Prices quoted “per square meter” are purely indicative and do not reflect real-world conditions. Every home has different openings and requirements.

Both materials offer a long service life. PVC is more affordable and provides excellent thermal and sound insulation, but it does not support certain sliding system types (such as recessed or overlapping designs).

Aluminum is more expensive, but it allows for a minimalist aesthetic, a wider range of color options, and the ability to create large openings.

 

Triple glazing offers improved thermal insulation—especially in colder or mountainous areas—as well as enhanced sound insulation in urban environments.

In milder climates, a high-quality double energy-efficient glazing system is usually sufficient.

If your goal is maximum energy savings, then triple glazing is worth the investment.

Basic RAL colors usually do not increase the price. Wood-effect finishes, special coatings, or dual-color options (different colors on the interior and exterior) do increase the cost, particularly in aluminum systems.

Insect screens typically start at around €80–€120 per opening, while shutters (manual or motorized) range from approximately €250–€500, depending on the size, type of housing box, and motor.

Material & System Type Selection

PVC is an ideal choice because it does not oxidize due to salt exposure and requires minimal maintenance.
Aluminum, on the other hand, requires special pre-anodizing treatment for protection, which increases the overall cost.

In colder regions, triple glazing combined with a thermally broken frame significantly reduces heat loss.

A lift & slide system offers excellent smooth operation, superior sealing performance, and clean, minimalist lines.

If there is no space for a sash to open inward, a sliding system is the better choice.
However, if insulation and security are the priority, an openable tilt & turn window is the most effective solution.

Performance – Thermal & Sound Insulation

Uw indicates the thermal transmittance of the entire window or door system—combining the frame (Uf) and the glazing (Ug).

In lowland or coastal areas, good Uw values typically range from 1.3 to 1.7 W/m²K, while in mountainous regions the target range is 0.9 to 1.3 W/m²K.

PVC systems can easily achieve these values at a reasonable cost, whereas aluminum systems usually require special configurations to reach similar performance levels, which increases the overall price.

It αφορά the entire window system. Many people focus only on the Ug value (of the glass), but if the frame or the installation is not properly executed, the overall performance is reduced.

A simple triple-glazed unit is not enough. Asymmetrical or laminated glazing is required, along with perimeter locking, high-quality gaskets, and proper installation with no gaps.

For Greece, the best combination is Low-E glazing with warm edge spacers and argon gas.
Krypton offers higher performance, but it is costly and rarely necessary.

Security & Durability

 

Perimeter locking secures the sash at multiple points, enhancing both security and airtightness.

RC levels indicate how resistant a window or door system is to forced entry.
For ground-floor or exposed areas, laminated glazing is recommended.

No, not anymore. Modern PVC profiles are UV-resistant, and aluminum systems use electrostatic powder coating or anodizing that does not fade.

Yes, there are solutions available to ensure maximum safety in homes with children or pets.

Shutters, Insect Screens & Accessories

Manual shutters are more affordable and do not require electricity.
Electric shutters offer greater comfort, enhanced security, smart features, and a 5–7 year motor warranty. If feasible, they are worth the investment.

A top-mounted shutter box reduces the clear opening height and, if not thermally insulated, can affect the Uw value.
An external shutter box does not reduce the opening height and offers better insulation, but it is more visible.

A plissé screen with a track (ερπύστρια) is more durable and secure. Alternatively, a reinforced vertical screen with a fiberglass mesh is also a good option for homes with children or pets.

Installation & Delivery

The final measurement is carried out on site by a technician using laser equipment. However, you may send floor plans or approximate dimensions to receive an initial quotation quickly through our form.

Removal of the existing frames is always included. Disposal is carried out either to the municipal waste container or via a rented skip where required, with a small additional charge.

Approximately 1–3 hours per window or door.
An apartment with 6–8 openings is typically completed within 2–3 days.

Programs & Subsidies

 

The main program is Exoikonomo 2025 (RRF) for residential properties.
There are also programs such as Renovate–Rent, Upgrade My Home (when active), as well as special ESPA / Recovery Fund initiatives for tourist accommodations or local authorities (OTAs).

Yes, as long as there is no double funding for the same expense. We always review the eligibility conditions.

The property must be used as a primary residence, have an initial energy class below C, and after the interventions it must either improve by at least three energy classes or achieve energy savings of at least 30%.

 

At present, the main program is Exoikonomo 2025, which covers energy upgrades such as windows and doors, insulation, and heating/cooling systems, aiming for at least 30% energy savings and an upgrade of at least three energy classes.
Applications for the current cycle run from 08/01 to 20/03/2025, with project completion required by spring 2026 (according to the official guide and announcements).

Additional schemes include Renovate–Rent (subsidies of up to ~60% for properties intended for rental), Upgrade My Home (when announced), and special ESPA / RRF calls for tourist accommodations or local authorities.
Participation requires CE / DoP documentation and compliance with the appropriate Uw values per climate zone.
