Lift-and-Slide Balcony Door
Lift-and-slide frames offer all the advantages of traditional casement windows in terms of thermal insulation, soundproofing, and security. Like casement systems, they use rubber gaskets for sealing and are equipped with multi-point perimeter locking mechanisms that are certified for burglary resistance. They also feature a tilt function.
The key difference lies in their operation: instead of opening inward like casement windows, lift-and-slide systems glide sideways—similar to parallel sliding systems.
In summary, lift-and-slide windows and doors combine top-tier thermal and acoustic insulation with certified security and excellent functionality. They are ideal for large openings such as windows or balcony doors, ranging from 1.6 to 3.5 meters wide.
Sliding Balcony Door
The main advantage of sliding balcony doors—especially when used for large openings—is that they can be built in substantial dimensions with a minimal number of sashes. These sashes slide alongside each other (typically in two-panel configurations), allowing for larger glass surfaces and fewer visible frames. The result is a more expansive view and a clean, minimal aesthetic.
Sliding Windows
Sliding frames offer the advantage that the sashes do not open inward like traditional casement windows, but instead slide one in front of the other. This makes them a practical choice in spaces where interior clearance is limited—such as kitchens or very small rooms.
However, when it comes to insulation performance, both thermal and acoustic, sliding windows typically offer only moderate results. This is mainly due to the fact that their sealing is done using brush gaskets, which are less effective and allow for some energy loss.
In terms of security, they provide only basic protection. This is because their locking mechanism is not perimeter-based but operates on a single side, offering limited resistance against forced entry.
Folding Balcony Doors
Folding balcony doors are the only window and door systems that allow the entire width of the opening to be fully opened. This creates a seamless connection between the interior of the home and the garden or balcony, offering a truly unique living experience.
In addition to their elegant design, they provide excellent thermal and acoustic insulation. Depending on the width of the opening, they can be built with 3 to 7 sashes, which fold neatly to one side when opened.
